80% of flavor is really aroma. To get the most aroma from spices and seeds, it's best to grind them fresh. That's easy with the Kuhn Rikon Vase Grinder equipped with the original CrushGrind® ceramic mechanism that's sharper and stronger than steel. Grind salt and pepper, sure. But with this specialty mill you can grind herbs like Rosemary, spices such as cardamom, flax seed...even coffee! You get power and precision, the adjustment wheel moves easily from extremely fine to coarse. And, there is no telltale dust left behind because the grinding device sits on top. You turn it over to grind.

The bottom fall of, do not know why.I had it 4 years and I loved it.It was working excellent until today,So here I am trying to find it and amazed with the price,I bought my in TJ Maxx for 16.99, should have bought 2 :)I guess I will just try to to fix it with super glue :)
Although Amazon recommends buying this spice grinder with the six additional inserts, it DOES NOT take them. You need model number 2350 (Kuhn Rikon Vase *Spice* Grinder) if you want to use the inserts with them. This is really one of those cases where Amazon's "Frequently Bought Together" suggestion is broken, and the descriptions of both grinders are woefully inadequate to compensate. It doesn't help that, on Wish Lists, this is listed as their "Seasoning" grinder, but on the product page itself, it's listed as a "Spice" grinder. Kuhn Rikon's website makes it clear that they are two different products, but Amazon does not.
Used this at a restaurant in Grand Cayman and liked its looks and the fact it did a good job of what it was designed to do. grind salt and pepper.
Big capacity, great output. This is the grinder for you. After looking for a replacement pepper mill for over 2 years, I came upon the Kuhn Rikon, and the search was over. Had mine over a year, and still pumping out the pepper. Get this one.
Fresh ground salt, "Sal Du Mare" "gross" (French for "course") is much better (and saltier) than the stuff with the little girl on it. My wife likes them because they are easy and dependable. We have 5 of these. And a good black pepper is always better fresh ground. They don't leave salt or pepper on the table (most important). You can easily see whether it's salt or pepper. Be careful not to loose the spring if you adjust the grind. It has a tendency to pop out.
